Cheese chips are so simple to make and only one ingredient! These are just a few reasons why we absolutely love making them. They’re perfect for when you you don’t have a lot of time but want some crispy goodness.
We usually make these on weeknights after dinner for a quick snack. The trend in our house is that we enjoy eating well but we’re not fond of long and drawn out recipes, especially for snacks. We like to keep it simple.
The great thing about these chips is that you can have some fun with the recipe. Each chip can either have one kind of cheese or you can totally mix it up by adding different cheeses. We’ve started off by making each cheese chip one specific cheese flavor. In the future, we can definitely see ourselves making our very own cheese chip creations by mixing the different cheeses.
Let’s start making some cheese chips chips!
First, choose your cheese – practically any type will do. I find that it’s best to use a block of cheese rather than already shredded due to the preservatives. I used sharp cheddar and Swiss cheeses. So you know, the Swiss came out good but very plain. I would suggest that if you end of using Swiss, that you sprinkle some spices on top.
Shred and place heaps of cheese on your baking sheet. DON’T FORGET THE PARCHMENT paper. You’ll be starting over if you do.
Place into preheated oven and bake at 350 until slightly golden.
Let cool and enjoy! If you’re on a low carb plan, these cheese chips are the perfect snack. Not a low carber? You may want to limit yourself, although it’s hard to stop at just a couple!
